PLEASE READ THIS IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM BOOSTER PRESIDENT ELLEN NOLL:

For the first time in all the years I’ve been volunteering with the band, a competition host is not giving us any tickets to sell to our parents directly. This unilateral decision by this weekend’s host is costing our band program, and by extension our band kids, up to $450. This ticket sale money was always used to offset the cost of participating in each competition. Instead, for the first time the host will keep all ticket sale money for themselves. In addition to keeping all the ticket money for themselves, tickets to this event are 60% higher than the usual prices this year and are $10 each. On a strictly personal level as a parent, I am offended by this decision to short-change our kids’ band program and have decided to not spend any of my own personal money at the competition to further enrich the host organization. Our Blue Band Boosters organization has also made some changes for this weeks’ competition due to this surprising decision. We have decided to offer alternatives to help offset the money we are losing by this decision, and for any other parents that may also want to refrain from spending money at the competition but still want a way to support their kids at the show. We will be selling our own candy grams and ‘grams of encouragement’ as an alternative to the grams at the competition for any parents that wish to purchase them instead of the candy grams and air grams at the show. A schedule of availability and prices is listed above. A program schedule sheet with scorecard is also being attached to this email for those parents that want an alternative to purchasing the host’s program. In addition, the Boosters have also decided to provide the band kids with a meal, including hot dog, chips, fruit rollup snack, and drink, and ask that some parents donate individually wrapped baked items for dessert. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 301-223-6345. Thank you , and as always, we really appreciate all the support you parents give to your Blue Band kids!

You can purchase your Grams -
in the cafeteria on Thursday evening between 6-7,
Friday evening before the football game in the hallway outside the band room and again on
Saturday for 30 minutes prior to our report time. Any questions about this change should be directed to Missy or Ellen (phone numbers listed above)

We will be feeding the students dinner (hot dogs, chips, fruit snacks, desserts and bottled water) at Liberty.

We are looking for families to donate homemade brownies or cookie bars – that are cut and wrapped into single servings – need 140 servings – so we need 10 families to donate 15 servings.

Please let Missy or Ellen know if you can help. Please bring your donation to the band room before the football game on Friday evening.
The students should still bring a snack to eat on the way home since we will not be providing anything but water after the performance.
